If you have children, I’m sure you heard your child ask almost a million times over his or her young life, the question WHY? Sometimes, they ask “WHY?” just to be asking? Which can be annoying. But they are also curious and wanting to learn and understand Why? Just like I do.
Our Father is the best One to ask. Lately, I have been asking Him almost
daily, “Why?” The world we live in today is in such turmoil, people are struggling, hurting emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally and financially. Horrendous events are occurring around the world, close to my home, and to some of my friends and family as well.TV and radio stations are reporting the tragic events almost as they occur and constantly for days after.
All of this has caused many people to feel anxious, hopeless, defeated, fearful, bitter, angry frustrated, and even envious.
Why Daddy, why?
They seem to lack patience and compassion and carry a load of garbage that clutters their minds and hearts which seems to spew over into their attitudes and conversations.
Pastor Dale Locke from Community of Hope Church says, "Genuine compassion is an action not a feeling."
I wonder how our world would look if more people lived out compassion for one another instead of grumbling, criticizing and complaining. Why Daddy, why? Why did You give us free will?
Whom the Son set free is free indeed.
John 8:36
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17
God will never send anyone to hell.
If man goes to hell, he goes by his own free choice.
Billy Graham
Why do You allow so much pain and suffering in this world when You could stop it?
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
Suffering prepares you by training you to trust God and know that
He is always at work in your life.
Charles Stanley
Why are some people so cruel and hurtful?
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things… For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Matthew 12:35
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. Luke 10:27
We cannot be right with God
until we are right with others.
Charles Swindoll from Simple Faith
Why can’t all people be kind to each other, show compassion, and love to one another? Be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 1Peter 3:8
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.
Prverbs 19:17
Tim McGraw - Humble and Kind
“When you get where you’re going don’t
forget turn back around and help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind."
Why do some people talk with disdain and condemnation? Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29
Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4 People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude. John C. Maxwell Why Daddy, why? I realize that many people have had difficulties in their lives, dysfunctional family dynamics, health issues, abuse, addictions, etc. etc. which might be the reasons they respond in a negative manner to life and others.
But I’ve come to my own conclusion that if more people genuinely knew the Lord, His Word, and His love; had a relationship with Him and followed His commands; their lives and the world would be a more peaceful place. Instead, they follow the god of this world not The God of heaven and earth.
I know I will still ask Why, when four teens get hit by a reckless driver while waiting for the school bus, or when I hear of wars and rumors of wars, child abuse, human trafficking, etc. etc..
Tears will still fill my eyes as I read about missionaries being tortured for Christ and I will still fervently pray. Pray for peace on earth and good will toward men.
I feel a little bit like Stephen Hawking when he said;
I am just a child who has never grown up. I still keep asking these ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions. Occasionally, I find an answer.
