I have been watching my weeds around the outside of my house and picking a few at a time when I think about it. However, lately, I’ve just been too exhausted to get outside to attack those stubborn greens. I have the desire to pull weeds but not the energy. Between my aching back, the heat, the overwhelming amount of weeds and the dread of the job; I just haven’t gotten around to it. But, finally, I went and bought weed killer to at least spray the stubborn greens in hopes that would take care of them for a bit.
As I was unloading the car and looking at the landscape where the weeds had over populated the rock garden; I was shocked.
I walked all around the front and side of the house and saw only one or two weeds.
I took a double take inspecting the alleged weed infestation and praise God, the weeds were truly gone. It may sound crazy, but I was either blessed with a weed picking angel, a weed plucikng fairy god mother, or a very considerate, loving servant friend who anonymously saw a need, had compassion on me and plucked or sprayed the unwelcomed intruders.
I am so thankful and really can’t believe my eyes, at such a perfect job done
This is a God thing for me, that is definitely being documented in my miracle book. Whoever performed this major act of kindness, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and my back thanks you too. May the weeds in your garden be few and unobtrusive.
I don’t seem to understand how my orchids and other plants shrivel and die without food and water but the weeds are still vibrant green and growing - "like a weed". My plants need to be nourished and watered and so does my spirit man. Staying in God’s Word and feeding on His truths sends my roots deep into fertile soil and produces spiritual fruit in me.
I, (a branch) abide in God, (the vine) and He abides in me, without Him I can do nothing.
John 15:4-5
However, there are many times those menacing spiritual weeds shoot up and strangle the life out of my joy, peace, contentment and growth in the Lord. As a Christian, I must actively be plucking the weeds of worry, anxiety, unrest, dissatisfaction, sin, lust, laziness, greed depression, pride, anger, envy and the like out of my life. I am so thankful that I have godly friends who will assist me in ridding my spiritual garden of the weeds that could lead me to seperation from Christ and spiritual death. I am blessed to have these accountability partners to keep my landscape weed free and to cultivate a life producing harvest in me as I do for them.
One thing common with the weeds in our yards and the spiritual weeds in our life is that they repeatedly come back. Terminating them is only temporary, so we have to be on constant alert to snatch them and discard them, as soon and as often, as they pop out their ugly heads.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person
sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
And let us consider one another
to provoke unto love and to good
works. Hebrews 10:24
If someone is caught in a sin, you who
live by the Spirit should restore that
person gently. But watch yourselves,
or you also may be tempted.
Galations 6:1
