This is my friend Josie and she is one - blessed and protected woman. Josie is a loving, generous, spirit filled, optimistic, charismatic, godly woman. She is one of the members in my Bible study family. Josie cannot attend our group as often as she would like because her job takes her all over Florida and she works many evenings.
About a week or so ago, she was driving home on highway 95 at night after a meeting and was about 2 hours away from home during a rain storm. There was a tractor trailer on her right and no traffic to her left. All of a sudden, her car hydroplaned, circled 8 times on the highway, went into the median, turned around there about 6 times, ended up in a ditch, then on the other side of 95 heading into traffic. Miraculously, she didn’t hit anyone or get injured herself. Somehow, she and God navigated the car home praying the entire time and thanking God that she was safe.
When Josie joined us Wednesday night for our study, she excitedly told us the entire story. We all praised God and the "chubby fat angels" for the wall of protection that carefully delivered Josie safely home. We all rejoiced with her and realized how precious life and our time together really is. My thoughts as I went to sleep that night was to make sure I treasure my friends and family and make sure they know it and feel it.
There are things in life that we do, or fail to do or things that are done to us, that we tend to regret. Our lives may be filled with regrets; about the life paths we chose, our professional career, our spiritual journey or lack of, our behavior and attitude; as well as the things we say and do or the things we don’t say or do. We have to let go of regret, forgive ourselves as well as others and move on.
Our friends, family and even our own lives can be stolen from us in the blink of an eye, so don’t delay in making amends or saying, "I love you!" more often to those you appreciate, care for and love. Don’t just say the words but show it by your actions. Love others as God loves us, unconditionally and express your love to them daily or even more frequently.
We were able to celebrate our birthdays together once again and rejoice for the gift of life no matter our age. We are a blessed group of women who enjoy each other and every day that God plans out for us. We try to live without regrets and realize, we are who we are because of our life situations and we make the most of it. We use our lives; the good, the bad, and the ugly to glorify God, to honor Him and to help others whenever we can.
I’d rather regret the
things I’ve done than
to regret the things
I haven’t done.
