I really enjoy being around people who are happy and positive. It can be contagious!!!
Just listening to or watching someone laugh/smile makes me feel good.
Complimenting others and acts of kindness creates a pleasant environment.
Being a source of encouragement for someone, not only uplifts the one being encouraged but it also refreshes the one doing the encouraging.
I challenge you to make someone smile today, whether near or far!
When was the last time you intentionally went out of your way to bring a smile to someone's face?
How did they respond and how did it make you feel?
I belive we could change the world for the better one person at a time, if we just take, the time, to show we care and smile more ourselves. Phillipians 2:1-3
It really doesn’t take a great deal of effort.
You don’t have to personally know the individual but you could still spread a little joy by randomly dropping a compliment to someone passing you in the store, a coworker, the mail man, your spouse, your neighbor or just anyone.
Send an encouraging note to a friend or hand out a scripture card to someone that you feel inspired to bless. Texting inspirational messages may help someone to face a trial or difficulty that you have no idea that they are experiencing.
Trying to make a person smile or feel good is a daily adventure for me. I take pleasure in catching people off guard, especially someone who doesn’t appear to be having a pleasant day or the ones who appear to be unapproachable. It is amazing what a kind word can do to brighten a downtrodden face. Watching someones demeanor blossom from grouchy to amiable is exhilarating for me. Accomplishing my kindness goal each day has become the highlight of my days.
Be on the look out for people who complain and argue. Adding a positive remark to counteract their pessimistic attitude could open their eyes and heart to the unhealthy vibes they are spreading. There are so many hurting people that put on a happy face every day just to be able to function but that face is a mask hiding their pain and sorrow. Be the one to see through the mask and be willing to shine a light into their soul.
Proverbs 14:10 Only the person involved can know his own bitterness or joy-no one else can really share it. Laughter cannot mask a heavy heart. When the laughter ends, the grief remains. vs. 13 (LB)
We are to live clean lives, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of people who are crooked and stubborn. Shine out among them like beacon lights, holding out to them the Word of Life. Phillipians 2:14-16 (LB)
