Keep Your Train on The Right Tracks

There’s a children's book called The Little Engine That Could. The story is used to teach children the value of optimisim and hard work. A book that I think everyone should have on their reading list.

Optimisim is a virtue. It is a mindset of having a positive way of thinking and viewing life. One can learn to be optimistic by reframing their thoughts and attitudes. We can escape the prison of “stinking" thinking and tarry in a refuge of peaceful, constructive, calming and uplifting thoughts and feelings. But to do that you have to stay focused and stay on the right track.

Being optimistic for some, may come naturally but for others it requires hard work, concentration, rejecting fear, doubts, anxiety, insecurities, and negativity.

I have an optimistic mindset; partially by nature but 99.9% of my optimism is due to my trust in God and His promises. He gives me hope and peace in troubled times. He is my forever shelter and refuge. He calms my heart and mind when no one else can. When I have inner conflict, He settles my issues and keeps me from getting derailed. God has been training me recently to be stronger in myself and my abilities as a child of His. He is enabling me with strength, self control and increasing myself awareness.

Unfortunately, I do have situations that derail my optimistic views but when I settled down and surrender the problem over to God rather than trying to handle it myself; my mind is much clearer and at peace.

I want to be like the happy, little engine that could, chugging along slow and steady on my journey of life, till I reach my final train station in Heaven. Choo, Choo!!!
