Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The cooler sweater and boot weather, the majestic dispaly of autumn leaves, the pumpkins and fall decorations, the smells of scrumptious foods, and gathering with family and friends seems to energizes me, excites me and comforts me. That is how I remember thanksgiving in St. Louis.
I have continued celebrating this treasured holiday over the years and have enjoyed thanksgiving dinner with so many different people, in various homes, different, cities and weather conditions. The warm cozy feeling and excitement of the holiday continues on, no matter my surroundings or the people that I’m entertaining.
There is joy in sharing a meal with family and friends. We all have gathered together on common ground for one purpose; to devour a feast and enjoy each other.
Table talk tends to unite people and stirs up meaningful conversations, laughter and precious memories.
I have discovered if I cook they wil come!!!
As you gather your friends and family around your table for the holidays,
make it more than just a meal together;
make it an occassion to reconnect and bond.
Meals served at a table provide the glue to connect people and build lasting relationships.
When people come to your table; let them sit down and be set free.
Don’t forget to serve large helpings of compassion, forgiveness, laughter, contentment, safety, understanding, acceptance and of course
fruit; the fruit of the Spirit.
These satisfying morsels will satiate the
appetites of each person's spirit man.
So come to the table. Eat, drink and be merry!
Galations 5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
