I know several people,
who have been living with
severe medical issues,
for a greater part of their adult lives.
They have struggled and suffered
many days just to do activities of daily life .
Friends and family give
their love and support but
their battle is still their own and God's.
Over the years, that I have known these people;
they have maintained sweet characters,
compassionate hearts, and
and gentle spirits.
The spirit of Jesus radiates from them as
they encourage and share God’s message
of love to the lost and hurting.
They are individuals who find pleasure
in serving and caring for others,
rather than seeking their own needs.
So for them, being served is not always easy or pleasant however,
they receive the help graciously when they need it.
Some days, they adorn their face with a brave, cheerful mask,
to disguise their pain, tears and fears.
Instead of talking of their woes, or
mulling over the dread and routine of their daily life;
they smile and display a genuine interest and love for others.
If you didn’t know they were ill or disabled,
their demeanor would never reveal their problems.
These people are unknown heroes who battle an enemy of sickness.
They don’t get any medals, coins or awards for accomplishing
and winning their mini or major wars successfully.
But they carry on courageously.
This is a poem I received today from a friend. It was taken from quotes from
The Meaning of Life.
Never Forget
How far you'e come. Everything you have gotten through.
All the times you pushed on even when you felt you couldn’t.
All the mornings you got out of bed no matter how hard it was.
All the times you wanted to give up but God gave you strength for the day
and made a way when you saw no way.
Thank Him! Amen
