I have watched the Superman series ever since I was a small child.
He was my first super hero.
The man of steel.
He has super hearing and super vision.
He was strong, handsome, always helping people every where
and best of all; he could fly.
As a child, I thought it was a little odd that the very people that worked with him, walked and communicated with him, couldn’t recognize him,
when he merely changed his clothes and removed his glasses.
How bizarre is that?
The other day when I was watching the new Superman and Lois episode on CW;
I thought how ridiculous it all is.
Lois worked daily and closely with Clark/Superman,
and yet after he/Superman saved her life and they stood face to face
she was totally clueless to his true identity.
She had no idea that Superman was the same guy
she was flirting with earlier at work. Duh?!
It made me think of how some people are clueless to our Lord and Savior also.
He stands right in front of them directing their steps away from danger,
or rescues them from some tragedy.
Yet, they don’t realize it is His power that saved them.
He blesses us and keeps us safe daily.
He is still in the business of search and rescue of those who are lost and hurting.
He still protects the weak and helpless and those in need, like Superman.
I have heard stories of how someones car slid on an icy road
and was about to plummet off an embankment,
but stopped abruptly by what they described, as the Hand of God. SuperGod!
God doesn’t fly around in a costume with a red cape
or physically stands in front of flying cars to protect people,
or blocks cars from crashing,
or rescues people from danger like Superman.
However, He still does many amazing things for us daily.
He sees and hears us when we are in need and
He speaks to us when we cry out to Him for help.
Psalm 86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon you,
for you will answer me.
Our God is a great and awesome God. He is a SuperGod!
I know He has rescued me many times
when I was clueless, that I was even in danger.
There have been situations in my life, that all I could say was,
"Now that was a God incident!"
Be in tune with the God who loves, cares and is constantly with you.
Recognize Him for the SuperGod He is and give him praise.
Open your eyes to the "God incidents” in your life.
Don’t be clueless like Lois Lane and her coworkers at the daily planet.
Open your eyes like the man in John 9:25 who said
“I once was blind but now I see."
John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him,
and the world did not know Him.
Praise God for He is a good, good SuperGod.
