Is Clutter Obstructing a Healthier, Happier - You?

Updated: Aug 22, 2022

My husband and I spent a week cleaning out our storage unit, discarding the items we hadn’t used in over a year and finding places in our home to keep the ones we still cherish. We donated many of our possessions to faith farm and goodwill; after all, our junk may be another man’s treasure . This was a major revamp for our home and my life.

There is an exhilarating feeling that I experience now, since we relieved ourselves from years of clutter. As I look around my house, I find other areas that need to be purged. Sheading off the things that we don’t need or use has brought me freedom and makes cleaning easier. I hope to organize my entire home and create more space while allowinging for more me time.

Clearing clutter -

be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual

brings about ease and inspires a sense of

peace, calm and tranquility.

Laurie Buchanan

My home is not the only place that needs freedom from disorder. My inner self also needs to be clutter free. I find it refreshing to let go of the baggage that plagues my mind, heart and soul.

Instead of caring every prayer request and every turmoil in the world on my shoulders and mulling over them. I release them into the hands of the Lord to ward off fear and worry. I cast my burdens on the Lord for He sustains me. He is the only one who can handle them anyway.

Discarding my internal clutter opens up my mind to focus on the moment and to think clearly. Meditating on God’s Word and His goodness is easier to do when I surrender my mess to Him.

I desire to live a life of joy and peace, and to indulge in physical, spiritual and emotional activities that support a better me.

Clutter is not just the stuff on the floor,

it’s anything that stands between you and

the life you want to be living.
