I am witing this blog in honor of a dear friend who has arrived to her eternal destination-777 Golden Gate Grove, Heaven.
Terry was a servant of the Lord who fought the good fight, finished the race, and she kept the faith. 2Timothy 4:7
She was a woman who not only talked the talk but also walked the walk. Caring for others needs was not only something she was passionate about, thought or prayed about, but something she did something about. James 1:22-25
Terry was a leader of a group for 20 years,
named, girlfriends with compassion (GWC).
The group increased over the years and was
so rewarding and easy to participate in; men even joined the group donating to the
designated project each month. Romans12:10-12
Only God knows how many lives have been touched by this one woman and her group as well as all the other acts of kindness and encouragement she had done over the years. Matthew 25:40
Terry was active in her church and their food pantry and any other ways that she could find to serve others. Romans 12:1
Terry rarely shared her woes and when she did it was for prayer. She was a very a humble, thoughtful, compassionte woman who never wanted to be exalted for her accomplishments or her good deeds. The Fruit of the Spirit was her mold by which she existed. Galatians 5:22
"The words to the song, Scars in Heaven by Casting Crowns is so, how I feel right now.
'If had only known the last time would be the last time
I would have put off all the things I had to do
I would have stayed a little longer, held on a little tighter
Now what I’d give for one more day with you."
Terry had a bucket list that she was working on for a while and because of the love and care of a mutual friend of ours, who was also called Terry; she was able to shratch off some of these adventures. They took a trip to North Carolina to see the Billy Graham museum, which was a major highlight for both Terrys. These are their pics from the trip. The two Terrys are in the pic above. Proverbs 18:24
Our loss is definitely Heavens gain. I’m sure when Terry reached those pearly gates, she heard. "Well done my good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21
Until we meet again my friend.
Beautifully written. Such a lovely way to pay tribute to a beautiful friendship and a Godly woman. May she be smiling with the angels.
